WHITE SWAN EDITORIAL SHOOT

Bridal Editorial Shoots are events with no guest in attendance. At the end of the day you wish formal invitations were mailed for guest to attend. .

Executing the details, developing the concept, sourcing venue, models, and attire requires a lot of hours and physical endurance. Collaborating with vendors that have a clear understanding of the objective is important. Everyone should be in agreement with financial expenses and decide on the amount that everyone will be accountable to pay. Vendors and Models must have the right mindset and commit to making the shoot successful. This full-day experience is a representation of everyones brand and creative style. The consensus should always be, “bring your A game.” Everyone involve wants to end the day feeling their time and energy was a good investment.

TIPS:

  • Professional Models

    • Early in my career I failed in this area immensely. The people selected to model were gorgeous without modeling experience. It was very noticeable in the images. Invest in professional talent.

  • Venue

    • Select a venue that compliments design concept.

    • Natural Lighting

    • Staff that make you feel welcome and accommodating.

    • The aesthetic offers several different spaces to shoot.

  • Content

    • Everything is content when producing an editorial shoot. Capture everything!

    • BTS, preparation, set-up, vendor camaraderie, hair, make-up, styling, attire, table-scape (every detail), room shot, deserts, floral, stationery, etc.

  • Design Concept

    • Color Palette

    • Create a Mood Board - This helps with the selection of attire, make-up, hair, stationery, etc. The vendors can grasp the concept and plan accordingly.

  • Shoot Itinerary

    • Everyone should be knowledgeable arrival times, logistics, set-up time frame, shoot time, etc. Share the itinerary with the venue.

  • Models Attire

    • If possible, schedule time for the models to be fitted.

    • Stylists should be prepared with options of accessories and attire to create different looks.

    • Having the fashion stylists, MUA, and hair stylist on set is extremely important.

  • Expenses

    • The vendor whom is responsible for creating the design and floral has highest out of pocket cost.

    • Models - Flat Rate or Hourly Rate

    • Attire - Some boutiques require a sign contract that identifies the amount to be paid if clothing items are damage.

  • Nourishment

    • Hydration and Nourishment is needed for all. Decide on breakfast, lunch and beverages for everyone. Have the items delivered or decide whom will pick-up the food before the day of the shoot.

Most important be kind and considerate to everyone that’s involved. Assist where needed. Work together as a solid unit team. Everyone should check their egos at the door.
